History

The organization was established in 1988. It began as a career day to support each other and evolved into Hispanic Women of Weld County (HWWC). HWWC has developed into an organization to help Hispanic women take charge of their lives. It was founded by Ms. Charlotte Rodriguez in November 1988 to promote recognition and career advancement for Hispanic Women. The organization is a Colorado State Non-profit.

Culture Contributions

HWWC promotes positive advocacy and visibility for the large and growing Hispanic population in Weld County. Along with the population, comes the rich Hispanic culture and the willingness of the organization to share this culture with the entire community through presentations and events. HWWC recognizes the numerous positive contributions Hispanics have historically made to the community.

Community

It is the goal of the HWWC to be aware of the needs of the Hispanic community and also work with other organizations. We provide different events throughout the year to reach out to the community at large.

Collaborative

HWWC provides an avenue for Hispanic women to collaborate with organizations and businesses to help provide knowledge and resources for the Hispanic community. The primary collaborations sought are in the areas of education and business. It is important to increase opportunities for Hispanic women in the workforce in both professional and non-professional fields. Due to our large Hispanic population, it is important that we help to contribute to a well-educated workforce for Weld County.
